Description:
The present groundwater studies are part of a reassessment of groundwater development for irrigation in the Terai belt of of Parsa, Bara, Rautahat, Sarlahi and Mohottari Districts.They include a review of the aquifer systems, aquifer development potential, the methods currently being used to exploit these aquifers by tube well irrigation, and possibility that existing tube wells may be better designed and constructed as sizes and costs appropriate to the Terai irrigator.The overall objective of the study is to update/upgrade existing groundwater potential map of the study area and to find out current status of groundwater balance. For this purpose, the Water Resources Research and Development Centre (WRRDC) intends to conduct this study by the fund from Government of Nepal
