- The CBDRM Shelter House is constructed under the Priority River Basins Flood Risk Management Project implemented by the Department of Water Resources and Irrigation, Government of Nepal, with financial support from the Asian Development Bank. The purpose of the CBDRM Shelter House is to provide a safe and secure place for local communities during floods and other emergencies. The CBDRM Shelter Houses are constructed at different flood-prone locations of the West Rapti River Basin in Dang and Banke districts. The identified locations include Gadhawa Rural Municipality-5 (27.818154°N, 82.564074°E), Gadhawa-6 Pargatinagar (27.815310°N, 82.538412°E), Lamahi-6 Deupur (27.865031°N, 82.509143°E), Rapti Sonari-1 Kusum (28.008359°N, 82.092208°E), Rapti Sonari-6 Dhaliya (28.071300°N, 81.759043°E), Duduwa-2 Ramnagar Paja (28.005620°N, 81.720631°E), Narainapur-3 Kalafat (27.892822°N, 81.875812°E), and Narainapur-2 Gangapur (27.876774°N, 81.893745°E). The shelter houses are designed with durable brick masonry and steel roof structures to ensure safety and long-term usability. Construction works follow approved environmental, health, and safety standards as per project requirements. After completion, these CBDRM Shelter Houses will function as emergency evacuation centers and community support facilities during flood events, helping to reduce loss of life and property while strengthening disaster preparedness and community resilience in the project area.
