- Knowledge Solutions and Institutional Strengthening for Sustainable Development - Nepal: Sudurpaschim Integrated Economic and Tourism Development Study Approval Date: 06-Nov-2020 Estimated Short-listing Date: 06-Dec-2022 Estimated Commencement Date: 16-Jan-2023 Estimated Commencement Date: 498,000 USD Engagement Period: 9 MONTH Objective and Purpose of the Assignment The objective of the study is to identify possible project profiles with a multisector development approach aimed at supporting the government-s national strategy of reducing provincial disparities as envisioned in its 15th five-year plan (FY2020-FY2024). The scope of this study will be to: (i) conduct a comprehensive review (consisting desk and field) of economic and tourism potential in close consultations with provincial and local governments, private sector, development partners, and civil society; (ii) suggest a long-term strategy and short-term action plans aligned with Sudurpaschim Tourism Master Plan and other relevant reports; (iii) develop tourism products/services (destinations and packages); (iv) outline specific policies and investments required for infrastructure, logistics, and human resource development; (v) incorporate complementary initiatives to promote green, resilient, inclusive development in destination areas; (vi) prioritize initiatives; (vii) prepare priority project profiles as part of the action plan; (viii) conduct pre-feasibility studies of selected projects, and (ix) organize knowledge dissemination workshops to raise public awareness on Sudurpaschim-s economic and tourism potential that will help energize all sectors of the society toward development of this province.
